What to Expect From an Initial Consultation
A plain-language walkthrough of what typically happens in a first meeting.

Reaching out for support for your child is often the hardest step, not because the process itself is complicated, but because it means naming that something needs attention. An initial consultation is designed to be low pressure: a conversation, not an evaluation of you as a parent.
The first meeting is usually a short call or an in person visit, around thirty minutes, with no preparation required. It's simply a chance to listen, ask a few questions, and get a sense of what support might look like for your specific child.
Most parents find it helpful to come with a rough sense of what's prompting the enquiry: a recent change, a concern from a teacher, a milestone that feels delayed. There's no need for a diagnosis or formal paperwork to start this conversation.
